Mr. Stanton is president and co-founder of SecureMarking, Inc., a venture capital-backed supply chain technology startup. With investments from the National Science Foundation and TechStars, SecureMarking is leveraging cutting-edge innovations to protect supply chains from counterfeiting and theft.
Stanton earned his M. Eng. from the Center for Transportation and Logistics at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Today, he is a doctoral researcher at Cranfield University in the United Kingdom where he studies the impact of emerging technologies on the evolution of global supply chains.

As the Director of Business Operations, Alex oversees the Business Office and the Procurement, Receiving and Census group for the Center for Comparative Medicine (CCM). These two units are responsible for human resources, purchasing, accounts payable & receivable, and census functions for CCM. He is one of the business owners for a recently implemented facility management system, which has been integrated with hardware and software from Barcoding, Inc. He reports to CCM’s executive director, providing budgetary and financial management, oversight, and support.

Prior to CCM, Alex worked in higher education in various capacities within human resources, benefits, payroll, research business administration and system implementation projects. He is active in the community, currently serving as Vice President of his local school district board. He has held leadership roles in various local charitable and community organizations over the past 15 years. He also served in the Army Reserves attaining the rank of captain. Alex holds a Bachelor’s Degree in History from Purdue University and an MBA from the University of Illinois – Chicago.
